DESTINATION PICK
The Club at Tower Ranch Joins List of Top Kelowna Courses
By Brad Ewart, Real Golf eNewsletter Editor

The city of Kelowna is undeniably the golf capital of Canada. No other destination in the country can boast the fine weather, the golf courses and the multitude of off-course activities offered by the Okanagan.

The Club at Tower Ranch, designed by architect Thomas McBroom, is the latest addition to a number of great golf courses in the Okanagan Valley.

McBroom has captured the unique character of the rolling landscape of the benchlands overlooking Kelowna at The Club. A good blend of holes takes the golfer on an unforgettable roller-coaster ride throughout this master-planned golf community that really is worth the visit.

Today’s modern course design demands more than ever that golfers play the tees that suit their game. The Club at Tower Ranch is another new course that will knock you down if your ego insists your group leave the regular tee in favour of the championship tees. Some of the shots on the back nine will demand no less than a heroic effort. They will require accurate driving skills, challenge your creativity and test your short game prowess.

GOLF TIPS
Maintain Consistent Pressure
Too tight a grip can destroy tempo and rhythm by forcing you to swing quickly - especially during the takeaway.
Let hips follow the knees
On the downswing, once your knees have moved targetwards, your hips must turn towards the target to clear a path for your arms to swing past your body.
Finish in Balance
The driver needs smoothness and rhythm to give length and accuracy. A follow-through in perfect balance is confirmation that this has been achieved. The feeling of posing in the perfect finish position helps with concentration and increases the chances of a controlled swing.
